Let's set up your receptionist
From $49/mo. Your first 7 days — or 60 minutes of calls — are free.
No card until the last step: everything before it is yours to fill in, change or walk away from. Adding the card is what builds your receptionist, and your free 7 days don't start until the first real call is answered. Cancel before they're up and you pay nothing.
No Pretending, Ever.
Picked up where you left off.
Restricted mode — here's exactly what that means.
You told us your business provides a health service, so your receptionist runs with tighter limits than an ordinary one. This is what the code enforces — nothing more, nothing less.
What your receptionist won't do
- It won't discuss symptoms, conditions, diagnoses, medications, test results or treatments — not even to repeat back what a caller says.
- If a caller starts describing what's wrong, your receptionist lets them finish, then says kindly that it's not the right one to talk to about the clinical side and gets them to the practice.
- A clinical message is written down only as "would like a call back about a health matter" plus their name — never the detail.
- It gives no health advice of any kind — not even "that can wait".
What still works
Appointments, hours, location, parking, fees, cancellations and rescheduling — ordinary reception, done normally.
What's different behind the scenes
- Calls are not voice-recorded and no transcript or call summary is stored: no audio is kept at our voice provider, and our call log keeps only the time, length, outcome and the caller's number — plus any message it takes for you, written the way described above.
- Anyone who sounds like they're in trouble is told to hang up and ring 000, the call is ended so their line is free, and you're texted at once with the caller's number and what they said. This is a restricted-mode rule — an ordinary Giday receptionist is not given it.
- The words "on a recorded line" are in the greeting on every call. They can't be switched off, because that notice is how consent to record is obtained under Australian state law.
Changed your mind on the health question? Ring us on (02) 7501 0101 and we'll switch it — a re-submit inside 10 minutes replays your first answer, so changing it here won't take.
Not a health business after all? Don't continue — ring us on (02) 7501 0101. How we serve practices: Giday for medical and allied health.
Your details are in.
Most of this is still yours to change. Your receptionist's name, their voice, the opener, your prices, your services, your hours, the suburbs you cover and how you take bookings are all one field in your dashboard the moment you're set up — and your greeting updates with them. Ring us on (02) 7501 0101 for anything else, or wait 10 minutes and start again. Otherwise, carry on to the card page.
