GIDAYVirtual Reception

The best AI receptionists in Australia, compared on price

We make Giday, so this isn't a neutral referee's report. It's the maker's honest one: every competitor figure below comes from that company's own pricing page, read on 23 October 2026, and where another product beats Giday, the page says so.

How we did this

We took the products that sell an AI phone receptionist to Australian small businesses and show up when you search for one: Sophiie, Johnni, AIDial, Voxworks, AIssie and Giday. On 23 October 2026 we read each one's own pricing page. Every figure below is theirs, as published; where a page doesn't say something, the table says "not stated" rather than guess. The per-minute figures are our arithmetic on their numbers, with GST added where they quote without it. We haven't measured anyone else's receptionist on a call, so this page compares what you pay and what's included, not how good each one sounds. Prices change: check the company's own page before you buy.

Only want calls answered? Giday's Essentials plan is $19 a month: your calls answered and the message emailed to you, pay as you go at 50c a minute. It doesn't book jobs; booking starts at Starter.

Where the others win

  • Johnni is a cent a minute cheaper at the entry level if you pay a year up front, and it includes recordings, transcripts and a free website on every plan. Giday's transcripts start at Steady.
  • Johnni's minutes get cheaper as you grow, down to 35c plus GST on its biggest plan. Giday's extra minutes stay at 50c on every plan.
  • Voxworks gives you 14 days to try it against Giday's week. (Giday's week only starts at the first answered call.)
  • AIssie answers website and social messages too, on the same plan as your phone.
  • Johnni, AIssie and AIDial can ring customers back with follow-ups and reminders. Giday answers calls; it doesn't make them.

Where Giday wins

  • The price on the page is the price you pay. GST is in every Giday price. Johnni and Voxworks quote without it, so add 10% before you compare.
  • Texts are included. Starter comes with 60 texts and a reminder text before every booking. On Johnni, SMS alerts and booking reminders are another $50 a month plus GST, which takes its entry plan to about $103 a month with GST, our arithmetic.
  • The cheapest extra minute on any entry plan here, at 50c with GST in.
  • A $19 way in if all you need is the phone answered and the message emailed.
  • Your free week starts when it answers its first call, not when you sign up.
  • Quotes from your own price list from Busy, and bookings pushed into your job system from Busy.

Straight answers

What is the cheapest AI receptionist in Australia?
It depends what you need. To have calls answered and messages emailed, Giday Essentials is $19 a month with GST in, pay as you go. For a plan that books jobs, Johnni ($44 a month plus GST, paid annually) and Giday Starter ($49 a month with GST in) are the cheapest stated prices we found on 23 October 2026, both with 60 minutes; Johnni is about a cent a minute cheaper once GST is added, and Giday includes 60 texts that Johnni charges $50 a month for.
Do AI receptionists charge GST on top?
Some do. Johnni and Voxworks quote prices excluding GST. Giday's prices include GST. AIssie and AIDial didn't state it on the pages we read on 23 October 2026.
Which AI receptionists book appointments?
Johnni and AIssie list booking on every phone plan; Giday books from Starter (Essentials takes messages only). AIDial sells booking through a separately quoted integration. Voxworks' pricing page doesn't say.
Is Giday the cheapest?
Not per minute at the entry level: Johnni's annual plan is about a cent a minute cheaper with GST added, and we say so above. Giday's case is GST in every price, texts and reminders included, the cheapest extra minute on any entry plan here, and a $19 plan if you only need calls answered.
